With the pandemic, I’m learning to be creative to protect the safety of my clients and myself. So that means embracing the fresh, albeit chilly air, and social distancing. I wear a mask. Clients wear masks until we get into position for the photos to begin.

When it comes to baby and newborn photography, I’m photographing families outside their homes (often on porches or on rooftop decks where they may come outside and go back inside quickly to warm up). I’m also photographing small kids and babies through their open front doors, so I’m outside and can use my zoom lens to take photos of the families in their entryways or living rooms. It’s a “make it work” moment, and so far I’ve been pleased with the results.

Stay tuned for more examples of winter family photography during a pandemic. Families are still cute and I’m still having a lot of fun while photographing them.
