After a couple years of working what sometimes felt like 24/7, I'm trying to catch up with the people I love this holiday season. My parents visited me earlier this week and one of my dear friends is coming for a visit this upcoming week.

I'm also catching up on album, print orders, DVD requests, etc...

Thankfully, my new computer is set to arrive this Monday all the way from China.  My current MacBook Pro is wonderful, but it's been running slow since some of my photo editing programs have upgraded their specs. To really take advantage of what these new programs offer, I needed a super speedy computer. Plus I'm hoping I can multitask on both computers and process photos faster.

It's all about speed, ba-by! With faster processing, the faster you receive your photos.

A smaller, yet almost as exciting addition to the Laurie Peacock household, is my new nose ring.  It's a tiny diamond stud.  My own mother didn't even notice it until I pointed it out to her (granted it was dark in my apartment). I've wanted a nose ring for five years, but knew my past political/corporate jobs wouldn't appreciate it as much I would. If you want an almost pain-free piercing, I highly recommend Hank at Tattoo Factory.

Despite momentary diversions, I am working hard for all my clients. It is taking me an extra couple days to get back to clients via e-mail, since I'm trying to stay away from the internet so I focus on albums.

In the meantime, here's a recent photo of me looking like I'm drunk off of the power from ol' Darth Vader.  See how easily I buttered up the "Dark Lord" into giving me a hug? I have mad skillz. :-P

I had the lovely opportunity to attend my cousin's wedding the weekend before my own. I was excited to enjoy cocktail hour and hanging out with my stepfather's family (it was his nephew who was getting married).  And I know my brides and grooms would be surprised (NOT!), but I even danced.

One of my favorite parts of the wedding was when the groom sang and played his original song he had written for his bride-to-be after they started dating. His sisters were crying so much during the song, yet the bride kept it together.  Impressive!

I'm about to wed this Saturday, and as many of you know, there is always a great amount to do before weddings. So if I'm slow to respond to e-mails and phone calls, please know that I'll return them as soon as possible. I'm not taking a honeymoon until later, so business should be back to normal next week.

In the meantime, here are some pics of my sister's new 4 mo. pup, Banjo.  He's such a lover!
